I am currently leading the development of http://www.lokad.com, and I am wondering if Lokad is considered as Web 2.0. Actually we are using Ajax and Web Services (like many others), but my question concerns the notion of collaborative algorithms.

Lokad provides time-series forecasts that are leveraging the data provided by the community as whole (see http://www.lokad.com/docs/Technology.aspx for the details). Intuitively, instead of restricting the input data to your sole account, Lokad is using all the data of the community as a whole to improve the forecast accuracy. Thus Lokad is essentially a collaborative application even if the level of interaction is rather at the algorithmic level as opposed to the classical social level.

Does anyone know other players providing similar technologies? Do they consider themselves to be Web 2.0?  Smiley

Best regards,
Joannès
